Checkers

Best-

Checkers, also called draughts, has been played for centuries and rewards thinking a few moves ahead. This version uses the standard 8x8 rules, including compulsory captures, and the Hard computer will punish a careless move.

How to play

  1. Pink moves first. Tap a piece, then tap where it should land.
  2. Men move one square diagonally forward.
  3. Jump over an enemy piece to capture it. If a capture is available you must take it.
  4. Keep jumping while you can, tapping each landing square in turn.
  5. A man reaching the far row becomes a king and can move backwards too.
  6. You win when your rival has no legal move.

Controls

Tap or click a piece, then its landing square.

Tips

Keep your back row at home for as long as you can, since it stops rivals from crowning. Trading pieces helps when you are ahead.
